This Bullet Proof / Resistant Face Mask has satisfied the requirements for N.I.J.  Standard 0108.01 Threat level II.  This is a Face mask that protects against .357 mag 158gr JSP at a velocity of 1400 +/- 50 fps.  It also protects from a number of other ballistic threats such as .22 .25 .32 .380 .38 .41 .44 .45 9mm 10mm.  This mask Retails from $385 - $500.    $385 if you know where to look.    $500 if you don't.  That is if you can find it.

Visibility of Ballistic Face Mask:  Visibility is excellent with this mask.  Although wearing glasses is out of the question with this model.

Aiming with BulletProof face Mask:  Aiming using iron sights on a rifle is plausible.  While you can aim with the iron sites through some manipulation, it does promote improper shoulder pocketing.  The aiming however, is much more easily acheived than if you were wearing your issue gas mask.  Aiming through the use of other sights (dot, laser, electronic) works well.

Breathing with Bullet-Proof Face Mask:  Breathing is not hindered by the mask. 

Comfort of the Bullet Proof / Resistant Face Mask:  At 2.2 Pounds this mask is comfortable.  Ergonomically fit, our Ballistic Face Mask has been designed to maximize comfort while providing total front facial protection. Padding is incorporated at the forehead and either side of the face as well as the chin to maximize shock absorption from ballistic threats. A six point elastic attachment system allows the user to adjust for the perfect fit.

Scare Tactic of the Bullet Proof / Resistant Mask:  The BG might just drop his weapon and surrender at the site of this mask.

Update 10/17/06  -  I just got done outfitting a squad on their way to Iraq.  And according to the squad leader, these masks are a perfect fit for the new MICH Helmets they are being issued.  They just take off the the padding on the forehead on the MICH and these masks fit perfectly, thereby providing complete coverage of the head and face for our troops and LE officers.  These will not fit the PASGT helmets.

Update 5/2/07  - Just heard back from the Squad Leader I was referring to above……… It seems that four of my masks have had a chance to prove themselves against IEDs.  His squad bought about ten of them.  That is a 40% hit rate.  I am so ecstatic to know they had them when they needed them.   But I really do wish and pray and hope that none of them “gets proven” again.   Please do not forget about our troops.  May they accomplish their mission and come home safely.  Don't forget to buy one of these and send it to your loved one who is serving our nation.  40% hit rate is rather high in my book.
