This is a Brand New, Non-Restricted, never been used never been issued rifleplate. Plates are comprised of individual ceramic tiles, of which are then bonded together. This allows for multiple impact, and preserves the integrity of the plate. These plates are engineered to stop, as a stand alone, AK47 and lower rounds....ie M16 and levels I to IIIa. They measure 10x12 inches and weigh 5pounds 3 ounces +/- 1.0 ounces. These are about .604 in thick. These are made of Ceramic & Polyaramid fibers. Price shown ships this to ALL 50 States. To attain a Level III stand alone status, a plate must withstand 6 shots from a 7.62x51 mm nato round.
This plate has not been tested against the 7.62 mm nato, but has been tested against the 7.62x39 and 5.56x45 as a STAND ALONE.
Remember, when you wear a vest in addition to the plates, your protection increases even more.
These are plates of HIGH quality and STRONG protection.
These plates are engineered to stop AK-47, M-16 and all lower rounds.
These plates will be shipped with a copy of the certification from the manufacturer dated April 11, 2006. Manufacturer's Certificate It shows the sample took six shots from an AK-47 with a maximum deformation of 35mm and absolutely no penetrations. It did that as a stand alone and NOT in conjucnction with any other protection.
A sample of these plates have also been sent to HP White Laboratories INC for secondary independent testing. Each plate will also come with a copy of the letter from the Testing Facility dated March 15, 2007. To those who do not know, HP White Laboratory Inc is certified as a source for testing body armor by the National Insitute of Justice (NIJ). They produce no manufactured item and is in no manner affiliated with any other research organization, manufacturer, agency or end product user. They are, therefore, the only truly independent ballistics laboratory in the United States. This unique independence has enabled the Laboratory to maintain an objectivity difficult to duplicate elsewhere.
As of the last time I checked, it is legal for normal citizens to own body armor in ALL 50 States. However, residents of Connecticut are prohibited from buying body armor unless it is a face to face sale or you are military or police. I will not ship these to Felons or Minors.
